Brunello di Montalcino

by Argiano

Brunello di Montalcino

Made by one of the eleven founding estates of the 1967 consortium that legally created Brunello di Montalcino as an appellation - Argiano didn't just arrive at this wine's reputation, it helped write the rulebook. The 2018 vintage was named Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year for 2023, nearly 450 years after the estate's first recorded vintage in the 1580s.

A genuinely exceptional Brunello vintage - warm without extremes, rain arriving exactly when needed, long ripening and cool nights. The Consorzio rated it five stars, its highest mark, and critics have called it more consistently excellent than the acclaimed 2016.
