Côte de Nuits-Village 'Aux Vignottes'

by Antoine Lienhardt

Cote de Nuits-Villages

Another Comblanchien parcel, farmed with Grand Cru discipline despite carrying only the regional Cote de Nuits-Villages label. Part of Antoine Lienhardt's quiet case that this village's limestone deserves better than the paperwork it was handed in 1936.

Vintages

A standout across the board: warm, dry growing conditions delivered a rare combination of ripeness, concentration and the acidity to balance it, in both reds and whites.

A hard year before it was a good one. Frost in April cut yields severely across much of Burgundy, and what survived needed careful sorting. What made it into bottle from attentive growers is honest, mid-weight Burgundy - just not much of it.
