The estate's Grand Vin - a Fifth Growth on paper that critics routinely call a "Super Second" in the glass, since Alfred Tesseron and Jean-Michel Comme rebuilt Pontet-Canet into the first classified Medoc growth certified both organic and biodynamic. Farmed in part with draft horses, at a fraction of what the actual Second Growths charge.

A genuinely brilliant year for Pauillac in particular: a warm, dry summer after a slow, damp spring brought grapes to full phenolic ripeness under smooth conditions. Big in colour and concentration, with velvet tannins and a welcome streak of freshness running through it.
