Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Aux Thorey'

by Antoine Lienhardt

Nuits-Saint-Georges

Aux Thorey sits on a cool, breeze-touched spur above the town, catching air that drifts down from the Hautes-Cotes - which shows up as something Nuits-Saint-Georges isn't always known for: elegance rather than muscle. Expect peony and orange rind alongside the usual dark fruit, and a wine built to age rather than impress immediately.

Another warm year, but one that avoided 2018 and 2019's occasional over-ripeness. Excellent phenolic grip and linear acidity, widely considered the best vintage since 2017 for capturing real differences between terroirs.
