Domain 'Clos de Tart' Grand Cru Monopole

Clos de Tart isn't just a vineyard, it's a walled plot that has never once been divided in almost 900 years - the largest Grand Cru monopole in Burgundy. Cistercian nuns from the Abbey of Tart founded it in 1141 and farmed it as one continuous block for 650 years, until the French Revolution seized church property in 1791. It passed to a single family for 141 years, then to the Mommessin family in 1932, then to Francois Pinault's Artemis group in 2017 - three owners across nine centuries, and the walls never came down.
