Producer
Romain Hénin
Romain Henin was born in Ay into a fourth-generation winegrowing family, studied viticulture at Avize, then spent two years at the respected Henri Giraud estate before starting his own small project in 2016 — 1.2 hectares, leased, farmed under the mentorship of a local biodynamic pioneer.
In October 2021, at 33, he took over the family estate outright and renamed it La Bulle Libre — "the free bubble" — to mark a full switch to biodynamic, additive-free, no-sulfur winemaking.
He and his brother Thomas now farm around 7 hectares around Ay and Mareuil-le-Port.
