Egly-Ouriet

The Egly family has farmed vines in Ambonnay, one of Champagne's top Pinot Noir villages, since 1945 — originally selling their grapes to the large negociant houses rather than making their own wine.

Francis Egly took over in 1982 and changed that entirely, building Pinot Noir-driven Champagnes serious enough to be compared directly to the prestige cuvees of the big Grandes Marques.

The estate has since grown to around 12 hectares, ten of them Grand Cru, spread across Ambonnay, Verzenay and Bouzy.
