Petit Roy (Seiichi Saito)
Seiichi Saito was born in China, raised in Japan, and trained in soil science before switching to wine — working stints at Bize, Mugnier, Rousseau and Leflaive read like a wish list of Burgundy's best addresses.
He founded Petit-Roy in Chorey-les-Beaune in 2017 with 2.1 hectares of regional-appellation land, farmed biodynamically, whole-cluster fermented, no new oak. He's the latest in a small but growing line of international outsiders — alongside Kei Shiogai and Koji Nakada — who've made a name in Burgundy from a standing start.
