Domaine de Chassorney (Frederic Cossard)

Frederic Cossard grew up the son of a Burgundy farmer and spent years as a courtier — the broker who connects growers to negociants — before founding Domaine de Chassorney in Saint-Romain in 1996, determined to farm organically and add nothing in the cellar, years before that was a fashionable position to hold.

In 2022 he handed the domaine itself to a like-minded winemaker, Aurelien Verdet, while keeping his separate negociant business — bottled simply as Frederic Cossard — running under his own hand.
