Doyard

Doyard's roots in Vertus go back to 1677, when a marriage license first recorded the family occupation as winegrower — one of the oldest continuous winegrowing lines in Champagne.

The estate didn't bottle under its own name until 1927, when Maurice Doyard began doing so. Yannick Doyard took over in 1979 and built the modern reputation for precise, mineral, Chardonnay-driven Champagne; his son Guillaume now runs the 10-hectare estate. Wine Spectator called Doyard the kind of producer that "makes you fall for Champagne again."
