Koji Nakada

Koji Nakada left Tokyo in 1996 to study oenology in Beaune, and founded Domaine Lou Dumont in 2000 with his Korean-born wife, Jae Hwa Park — the name a small tribute to their goddaughter and to "mountain," a nod to both their homelands.

They started as negociants and didn't buy their first vineyard land until 2012. The house now makes wine from Chablis all the way down to the Cote de Nuits, built on the same instinct: get out of the way of the fruit, use only wild yeast, and keep sulphur additions to a minimum.
