Benoit Chevallier

In 2018, in his forties, Benoit and his sister Eloise took the family's leases back. For the first time, they bottled their own vines under their own name.

Their debut vintage, 2019, promptly won Burgundy's Trophee des Jeunes Talents - against domaines with decades of reputation behind them.

It's the wine equivalent of an unseeded wildcard winning Wimbledon on their first appearance: it doesn't rewrite the record books, but it tells you everything about who's holding the racket.
